Polokwane is buzzing! The 7th Annual Miss Teen Universe South Africa and Miss Pre-Teen Universe South Africa pageant is just around the corner, happening March 20 to 22, 2026, and the city is ready to put on a show.

For the second year in a row, the pageant is skipping its usual home in Durban and calling Limpopo’s capital its stage. And honestly, the city seems perfect for it. Organisers say teaming up with the Polokwane Municipality shows just how much the area is growing as a hub for youth programs and empowerment.

“It feels incredible to be back in Polokwane,” says Ntombi Gumede, National Director of Miss Teen Universe South Africa.
“The brand has grown beyond what we imagined. We’re reaching girls all across Mzansi, giving them a platform to shine. This year feels like a whole new chapter for us.”

Big Partnerships, Big Opportunities

This year, the pageant is leveling up with some exciting partnerships. Aquamenti SA is the headline sponsor, bringing a focus on health, wellness, and youth development to the forefront. On top of that, a UK skincare brand that specializes in acne and youth-focused products is joining in to help contestants feel confident and learn about healthy self-care.

Three Days Packed With Fun and Purpose

The action kicks off Friday, March 20, with the arrival of the finalists. But it’s not just about strutting onto the stage—there’s a community outreach event at Ditsepu High School, featuring a school shoe drive and even a charity netball match. Yep, the pageant is serious about making a difference.

Saturday, March 21, shines a spotlight on heritage and creativity during the Hello Polokwane Fashion Show, with local designers and traditional attire taking center stage. And the preliminary judging round happens that day too, giving the finalists their first chance to impress the judges.

Then comes the big night—Sunday, March 22. The finale promises glamour, drama, and crowning moments, as South Africa’s next teen and pre-teen queens are revealed.

More Than Just a Crown

Miss Teen Universe South Africa isn’t just about looks—it’s about leadership and making an impact. Reigning queen Chrizmie Mostert has used her title to start the Brain Bloom Foundation, raising awareness about ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia, while supporting young people with learning challenges.

Finalists and reigning queens also serve as youth ambassadors for the South African Red Cross, and the organisation works year-round with the Raising Future Leaders Siwugoba Usemanzi Foundation, running youth programs that go far beyond the runway. This pageant is about shaping the next generation of leaders, not just picking a winner.

A Fresh Take on Leadership

This year comes with a new twist: the pageant is opening up positions for Provincial Directors and starting a provincial selection system for future editions. And 2026 will be the last year delegates are scouted nationally, which means the competition is going to be extra fierce.

“Judges have a tough job this year,” Gumede says.
“The level of preparation is insane. Our outgoing queens set the bar high, and the new titleholders need to be ready to lead, inspire, and serve.”

After last year’s hosts, Uzalo’s Langa Mavuso and Miss South Africa 2022 runner-up Ayanda Thabethe, organisers promise surprise hosts and entertainment for 2026—so expect the evening to be full of fun, laughter, and excitement.

With a mix of talent, culture, and empowerment, the 7th Annual Miss Teen Universe South Africa is shaping up to be a celebration that Polokwane—and the whole country—won’t forget.
